Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris, born on the 20th of October 1964 is a prominent American politician and lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female vice president , and the highest-ranking female politician in U.S. history, as also the first African American and first Asian American vice president. A member of Democratic Party, she has been attorney general for California from 2011 to 2017, and also as an United States senator representing California from 2011 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. Following her first job as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was enlisted to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003, she became the San Francisco district attorney. She was elected Attorney General of California in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. From 2017 until 2021, Harris was the junior United States senator for California. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate.
